GUATEMALAN INSPIRED DINNING
ANTIGUA GUATEMALA
This unique project is located in Antigua Guatemala. This dinning experience was inspired by local Guatemala Culture, both the food and interiors and inspired by this unique essence that Guatemala transmits.
"The restaurant Los 3 Tiempos was a Project that sought to implement the Guatemalan culture inside the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala". -DIEGO OLIVERO
To accomplish the goal the use of pastel colors, and regional traditional childhood games such as capiruchos and tamboleros were used as inspiration. The chairs and tables are embroidered in national textiles from the region showing the characteristic navy blue color of Antigua Guatemala City.
The space consists of two floors and terraces both on the first and second level of this historic building. Each piece was designed and crafted by artisan groups in Guatemala. Antigua Guatemala is a Cultural Heritage site declared by UNESCO. The restoration of the house and gardens where the restaurant is located was a key point for the project.
The courtyards and internal decoration elements were carefully planned and executed. The roof was reinforced enabling to create a mezzanine and a second story that allowed the space to open more and provide a better view to the countryside landscape of Antigua Guatemala City.
