Xoom is located on 4º Norte district of Guatemala and it was the first center of technology outside United States. After 10 years of operating on San Francisco, CA. Xoom needed a second worldwide headquarter, one that serves as the hub for regional activities on 30 countries around the world.
"THE DESIGN OF BUILT SPACES HAS ALREADY BEEN INFLUENCED BY MILLENIALS WHOSE NECCESITIES AND TRENDYS ADECUATES FOR HIS PLACE OF CO-WORKING." - HECTOR PEREZ
As a global company, Xoom has been growing and needs an expansion for its operations. It brings opportunities for 150 employers such as software engineers, designers and professionals with the same vision of technology reflected on their own place for work.
The design of this office its inspired as a free office space and access to great connections, using art as a link between all spaces. Also, it implements an internal tempered glass elevator for the use of people with disability conditions making the global brand a more productive and manpower organization.
The design should know the priorities of the company and what motivates employees to connect with one another, and the interior workspace should be designed with that in mind. The preference for any workspace should authentically reflect and support the culture of its users, not only in the way it looks but also in the behaviors it promotes through the uses of working tables, conference rooms, cafeteria, service, employee area, and restrooms.
Oliver and Bland Studio takes the concept of creating a “we” space over “me” space through this high value of staying in contact with one another by spaces where groups gather. O&B makes a real and ideal place for the “we” on an open space and a private for employees who do still need a place to call their own “me” spaces are created for example on telephone cabins for users who want to receive calls or conferences online in private spaces.
